Kelowna Beer Fest set to be a hole-in-one, a strike, and much more

Play a mini-golf round, take down some pins and enjoy the craft beer since during Kelowna Beer Week. 

This year's event is taking place from Oct. 4-12 and 22 breweries are involved.

To kick off this year's festivities, a party is taking place on Oct. 4 at one of Kelowna's newest establishments, Three Lakes Brewing. Located at #7-2030 Matrix Crescent, there will be live music, prizes for whoever dresses in the best golf attire, a magician, and The Lobster Pot food truck. 

On Saturday, Oct. 5, the public has a chance to beat their favourite brewers in the lanes at Freddy's Brewpub. From 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., prizes are available for those who beat the brewers in a game of bowling. Many brewers will be on scene with their beer for people to try and samples are $2.50 each. It's $10 per hour to bowl.

From Sunday, Oct. 6 through to Thursday, Oct. 10, the inaugural COBrA (Central Okanagan Brewers Association) Open is taking place. This is a mini-golf tournament, with 17 holes to play, one at each participating brewery.

At any one of the participating breweries, those interested can pick up a scorecard, play the hole, mark down their score, get it stamped to make it official, and enjoy a discounted beer for playing. Make sure to turn in your scorecard by Thursday for a chance to win prizes at the wrap-up party taking place at Railside Brewing on Friday, Oct. 11.

People are also asked to dress in their golfing best to the awards. 

To conclude the week, Rustic Reel Brewing Company is hosting A Reel Street Fest on Bay Avenue on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. More than 30 vendors will be on display with drink samples, snacks, entertainment and more. Tickets are $28.

October is BC Craft Beer Month and BC Beer Con takes place on Oct. 17 and 18 in New Westminster.
