Tickleberry's isn't going to let its upcoming milestone pass without a celebration.
The Okanagan Falls ice cream shop is turning 35 years old on March 1, the day it reopens after its annual winter hiatus.
With $1 ice cream available for purchase, the store is inviting community members to come celebrate the anniversary at its original Okanagan Falls location.
The event will also include ice cream glitter tattoos, balloon animals, photo booth, and create your own ice cream contest.
All proceeds from the 35-year birthday party will go toward the Okanagan Falls Heritage and Museum Society.
The museum will be open and free of admission in celebration of the festivities, the ice shop said.
Tickleberry's opened in the spring of 1990 and has since expanded with a downtown Penticton location. Its famous ice cream can also be found along Skaha Beach at a concession stand in the summer.
Kelsey Hoy, owner of Tickleberry's, took over the business from her parents in 2009.
She says March 1 remains a special day on the local calendar every year.
