Hearts and Hands 4 Ukraine brings joy to children in Kelowna

The private event was held Nov. 19

It was a house filled with love and presents on Nov. 19, the same day that marks the 1,000th day since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

But, in Kelowna Hearts and Hands 4 Ukraine joy was brought to those impacted by the war in Ukraine and now call Okanagan home during a private event.

Ukrainian families have been finding a new home in Kelowna ever since Russia declared war on the country.

This is the third year that the organization held a toy drive.

Hearts and Hands 4 Ukraine raised approximately $25,000 and helped give gifts to 187 children and teens who had registered.

Organizer Tod Alstad was the driving force behind the event that featured music by Alexandra Babbel as well as had guitarists, pianists and Christmas carollers.

Anyone who wants to make a donation or connect with Hearts and Hands 4 Ukraine can contact Tod Alstad at 250-575-1390 or email tod@wtafinancial.com.
