Learning was made fun for middle schoolers in the Central Okanagan on May 29.
Hosted at UBC Okanagan in Kelowna, more than 500 students from School District 23 came out for the Expo of Awesome, a day all about science, technology, engineering and math.
The students toured through various stations across campus learning about topics such as forest conservation, wind energy, muscles in the body, and the salmon run. The middle schoolers even got to play a video game while learning about computer coding.
One of the organizations behind the Expo of Awesome is Westcoast Women in Engineering, Science, and Technology (WWEST).
WWEST director Jennifer Jakobi said she wished these opportunities were around when she was a kid.

The Expo of Awesome continues on May 30 with students from School District 22 in Vernon.
