As we get closer to the summer, Firesmart rebates are now available in an effort to encourage fire safety among Central Okanagan residents.

Rebates for property owners in the Central Okanagan East and Central Okanagan West Electoral Areas, who incorporate FireSmart practices, can be up to $1,000 (covering 50% of labour and supplies costs).

Residents can visit  to learn more about the FireSmart program and schedule a free personalized property assessment. The assessments provide specific recommendations to reduce fire hazards. Residents who implement the FireSmart recommendations are eligible for the rebate.
