Alaska at RDCO dog control now in care of OHS.

Found wandering McCulloch Road in East Kelowna, a husky mix was brought to dog control several weeks ago.

After no one claimed her, eight-year-old Alaska was placed in the care of the Okanagan Humane Society.

Her coat was in such poor condition the rescue believes the pup had been living outside for some time.

Now she has been brushed and given a lot of care and attention, which has her looking and feeling better.

Alaska is currently in foster care where she is learning to trust again. She is fearful of new people, but it did not take long for her to bond with her foster mom, who can brush and bathe Alaska.

The 80-pound canine is looking for a home that has patience and time for her to become part of a family.

Alaska isnÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™t much of a walker and prefers to lay in the yard or hang in the house. She is good with other dogs and OHS thinks she would do best in a home with older children.
