The Rutland Seniors Centre is a busy place and they are looking for a third volunteer bingo caller. 

Rutland Seniors Centre Society VP and the volunteer bingo coordinator Irma Sutherland said they have two wonderful volunteer callers, but the centre could use a third one to cover when the others take vacations. 

"I picked it up after COVID in 2021," Sutherland said. "We initially started with an average of 25 to 30 people for the first few months and we have built it up to an average of 80 people a week."

Seniors gather at the centre for bingo on Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

"We would be looking for a relief position that might be once, possibly twice a month at the most."

The volunteer would also be asked to help with the basic set-up ahead of the games. 

Anyone interested in volunteering should call the Rutland Seniors Centre at 250-765-3723 and ask for Sutherland. 

Bingo is open to all centre members. Memberships are available for anyone 50 or older at $10 per year.
