Local breweries, both old and new, combined to capture three medals at the Canada Beer Cup on Oct. 25.
Tin Whistle Brewing, which is often referred to as the South Okanagan香蕉视频直播檚 original brewery, headlined the local success by winning two gold medals.
The brewery香蕉视频直播檚 Glorious Hazelnut Coffee Milk Stout took gold in the Sweet/Cream/Milk Stout category, while its Mythical Creatures Westcoast IPA took first place among all Canadian IPAs in the six per cent alcohol or lower group.
Penticton香蕉视频直播檚 Abandoned Rail Brewing, meanwhile, took home a silver medal for its Bellhop Porter beer in the Porter/Robust Porter category. The brewery opened in 2022 off Naramata Road near the KVR Trail.
This year香蕉视频直播檚 edition of the Canada Beer Cup presented awards in 66 beer-style groups across 11 different categories. A panel of judges from across the nation and beyond was responsible for picking the winners.
In 1995, Tin Whistle became the South Okanagan香蕉视频直播檚 first brewery and 12th overall in B.C. It was purchased by husband and wife Alexis Esseltine and Timothy Scoon in 2020.
