A local business leader who㽶Ƶֱs been involved with Penticton㽶Ƶֱs craft beer scene for almost 25 years has been recognized on a province-wide level.
Patt Dyck from Cannery Brewing has been named the winner of this year㽶Ƶֱs BC Food & Beverage Leadership Award (BCFB), presented at the Rocky Mountaineer Station in Vancouver on Oct. 11.
Dyck emerged victorious over the category㽶Ƶֱs other two finalists, Kriston Dean from Vancouver-based Purdys Chocolatier and Susan Vann from Richmond㽶Ƶֱs Konscious Foods.
The award is distributed annually to those in the industry who lead with 㽶Ƶֱdedication and inspiration.㽶Ƶֱ
Voting took place online from Sept. 5 to 19.
Dyck and her husband Ron co-founded Cannery Brewing in 2000 to become the leaders of one of the city㽶Ƶֱs original breweries.
㽶ƵֱBecause of the quality of Patt㽶Ƶֱs leadership, many employees have been with Cannery Brewing for many years which is unusual in an industry with significant turnover,㽶Ƶֱ a bio written by representatives from the BCFB reads.
Dyck also serves as the brewery㽶Ƶֱs general manager. Cannery Brewery is located at 199 Ellis Street.
㽶ƵֱPatt inspires her team by leading by example every single day, is an absolute trailblazer for other women in the craft beer industry and sets a very high standard for inclusion and diversity.㽶Ƶֱ
