A 'most powerful' Canadian woman from B.C.

Women's Executive Network (WXN) has named Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 for 2016.

Among Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 for 2016 is Sandra Stuart.

Stuart is president and CEO of HSBC Bank Canada. WXN has recognized her with its Inclusion Vanguard Award.

Stuart has served as a member of University of British ColumbiaÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s Sauder School of Business faculty advisory board and leadership co-chair for the United Way of the Lower Mainland.

She has been recognized by the Association of Women in Finance for excellence in the private sector and by BC Business as one of British ColumbiaÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s most influential women.

With more than 30 years of experience, Stuart is a seasoned banking professional with a broad range of skills and a proven track record of delivery in both international and domestic capacities. She joined HSBC in 1982 and has held a number of progressively senior roles in Canada and abroad, including in the United States and Brazil. She serves on the board of HSBC Bank Canada and as the chair of the board for HSBC Global Asset Management (Canada) Limited.

WXN will celebrate its honourees with a leadership summit in Toronto tomorrow night Nov. 24, followed by an awards gala at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Finding Canada's Most Powerful Women for 2017 begins in B.C. with a leadership summit on Jan. 20 at the Fairmont Waterfront in Vancouver.
